Donate or Join the Shenango River Watchers

Membership is just $15 yearly for individuals, $25 for families, and $35 yearly for businesses.

Shenango River Watchers is a501c(3) non-profit organization.

Your membership is at the core of everything we do. You will be joining an award-winning organization working to restore and protect the environmental, scenic, and recreational attributes of the Shenango River and its watershed. We research, study the health of our river, clean-up and recycle, educate and undertake projects to increase recreational use of the river. As an SRW member you will also have a vote in the election of board members and officers. Membership can also go beyond your annual donation. It can be an opportunity to contribute your skills and expertise, lead a project or simply volunteer for a few hours.

Our members have made it possible for us to accomplish so many wonderful environmental and community enriching projects that we can’t even list them all!  Over the past 20 years, we have removed over 1.5 million pounds of trash from the watershed, dispose of more than 55,000 tires, cleaned up a two-story dump along the Rail-to-Trail project in Greenville and created the Upper Shenango River Water Trail that opened our beautiful river to thousands of paddlers from our watershed and beyond, and made the Shenango River Pennsylvania's 2021 River of the Year!

As you can see, our volunteers, community and donors help us to accomplish so much, but it’s YOU, our members whose support through membership fees sustains our organization.  SRW helped pave the way for many other non-profits that have blossomed over the past decade to the revitalize Downtown Sharon, increase tourism and promote our community. We are proud of our work in the region and hope you will renew your membership so we can accomplish even more.  Current projects include:

  •  Creation of a new canoe/kayak launch and large parking area at Halfway Rd. (Green Twp.) in partnership with the Mercer County Trails Association whose bike trail will also access the parking area.
  • Restoration and maintenance of the Shenango Hiking Trail that is parallel to the former Erie Canal Extension Tow Path and the Shenango River.
  • Continuation of our water quality research and fish studies within the Shenango River watershed.

We have a busy year ahead of us and hope you will show your excitement by renewing or becoming a member of Shenango River Watchers TODAY!
